Q1:
- Having watched the video with Nigel French – describe, in your own words, what each of these colour systems means: RGB and CMYK.
RGB – This modul uses the primary colors Red, Green and Blue. It adds colors and is therefore called an additiv color model. You should use the RGB mode when designing for web, digital cameras, screen etc.
CMYK – Uses the primary colors Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Key. It works on an opposite way then RGB, when you add color it goes darker instead of lighter. CMYK works best when you are working with print. It doesn’t have the same amount of different colors as RGB because a printer cannot print all colors.
- Make use of Adobe Colour and develop four different colour schemes. Please hand in screenshots of your schemes:
- Monochromatic
- Complementary
- Triadic
- Analogous

For freestyle I went for a simple sepia, I really like the way sepia looks and I have used it many times as a filter when I take pictures with my phone:

Q3:
- Design a book cover for one of the following:
a.) “Rosemary’s Baby” by Ira Levin: use complementary colours to express anguish and uncertainty.
b.) “Animal Farm” by George Orwell: use analogous colours with a contrasting accent to express disagreement and discontent.
c.) “The Secret Garden” by Frances Hodgson Burnett: use secondary colours to express naivety, honesty and harmony. - The book cover must contain the title and the author’s name.
- You must clearly make use of colour to express the desired effects.
The funniest part of this assignment, but I am still getting used to combining school and work, and these two weeks I was way over my head and work got the better of me. I had so many thoughts about this task, but because of bad timing I had to lower my expectations and do something easier then I was originally planning.
I went for “Animal Farm” by George Orwell, and I think It went okey, im good with the result but know it could be much better if I learn how to use my time better. I think its hard to be an online student because I don’t have the security that a physical school provide. And therefore I still have much to learn I hope I dint fall behind before I find my place in this mess.
